A judge has decided Tuesday, in a preliminary hearing, that there was enough evidence for the case to trial in Montgomery County Pennsylvania District Court. The legendary Bill Cosby, known for his array of movies and sitcoms such as Fat Albert, The Cosby Show, A Different World, Uptown Saturday Night, Let's Do It Again and so much more, will face his greatest challenge in the courtroom. Mr. Cosby faces up to 10 years in jail if convicted of the misdemeanor assault charge and a 10,000 fine. Cosby has denied all allegations of assault and has sued some of his accusers for defamation. President Barack Obama called on the nation Monday to support and listen to its law enforcement officers as he bestowed the Medal of Valor on 13 officers who risked their lives to save others. In a ceremony in the East Room, Obama draped the purple-and-yellow ribbons around the necks of officers who intervened in shooting rampages, hostage situations and an armed robbery. He pledged to keep working toward a bipartisan overhaul to make the criminal justice system fairer, smarter and more effective so that officers are well-equipped to enforce the country's laws. "We can show our respect by listening to [...]

On Friday, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco reversed a U.S. District Court ruling that dismissed Kristy Henderson’s case against Bonaventura. Former Constable Bonaventura is back in the news after a three Judge Panel reverse the claim that U.S. District Court Judge Robert Jones made an incorrect accusation about Henderson "splitting claims," by file the same case twice in the same court.  Bonaventura who we remember was not re-elected after disputes with other Constable's over jurisdictional boundaries, hiring deputies with questionable backgrounds and budget differences with Clark County. The Plaintiff Henderson, a former Deputy Constable for [...]

Why Do You Need To know... Ultimately and maybe unfortunate enough to have an encounter with the Court System. Whether its is a traffic ticket, divorce case, child support or something else; you will come in contact with legal counsel who will use a Process Server or Court Officer (Marshal, Sheriff or Constable) to execute service. The Court Officers will not seek to find the recipient of the court documents, but this is where a Process Server shines. A Process Server Company will seek to find your Defendant. Reminder: Your case can not go forward without  the execution of service, [...]

10 O'clock Is Too Late For A Process Server! What time is too late for a Process Server to come to my house?  Process Server Hours - The Laws in most States say that the Process Server should go to a person(s) home when they believe the Defendant to be there. Most Process Servers will go to a person(s) house or home once in the morning, again in the afternoon, and if necessary at night. This helps the Process Server to establish due diligence. A season or veteran process server will leave a card or a note. This not only helps to establish [...]

Nationwide Process Server vs Process Server (Local)

Nationwide Process Server vs Process Server (Local) A Nationwide Process Server has a team or an association with other process servers to get service of process executed all over the country. This does not mean that that the service is great or even effective, but it does work. After the service is executed, the success gives the Process Serving Company a boost in reputation.  This sounds like the way to go when choosing a process server, but don’t be fooled. What if service was not completed or effected on the correct address or party. The damage done by someone else [...]

Homeowners who fail to pay their property taxes can still legally lose their homes even if the buyer of the tax deed can’t confirm the former homeowners have been notified, so long as county officials and the buyers make a realistic effort to contact the delinquent taxpayer and satisfy due process requirements under the law, the Illinois Supreme Court has ruled. http://cookcountyrecord.com/stories/510651186-il-supreme-court-says-tax-deed-buyers-need-only-show-due-process-satisfied-not-prove-delinquent-homeowners-were-notified
