WESTMINSTER MAN SHOOTS AT PROCESS SERVER

Christian Shenk

A man is facing several charges, including attempted murder, after shooting at a process server who tried to serve him with paperwork, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies were called at 10:50 p.m. Tuesday to the 4300 block of Salem Bottom Road in Westminster on a report of gunshots fired at an individual.

The victim, a civil process server, told police he had arrived at the home in order to serve civil paperwork on the suspect and identified himself as such.

The victim said he was told to leave and saw the man, identified as Christian Shenk, 41, leave the garage with what appeared to be a rifle, authorities said.

The victim said he got into his vehicle to leave and heard several gunshots. Deputies said they found several holes in the victim’s vehicle that appeared to be caused by Shenk firing the weapon toward the victim, which were consistent with victim’s statements.

Deputies took Shenk into custody. He has been charged with second-degree attempted murder, use of firearm/crime of violence, reckless endangerment and first-degree assault.
